Traveling

I have recently received the 12 step program and am thrilled with the content.  It seems to combine everything I have learned over the years in an easy and common sense program that I think I can really use and stick with day to day.  However, my husband and I will be traveling to London, Paris and Italy this summer for a little over three weeks.  Any suggestions on how to deal with the long plane rides and doing without my green smoothies now that I am totally hooked?

I read somewhere on this blog that someone else dehydrated their green smoothie and that is what I did this past week to take back packing later this month. I just made the smoothie as always, then poured it onto a tray with a teflon sheet. It dried completely within 12 hours. It tastes wonderful and I can’t wait to eat it all. Everyone else in our group will be having dehydrated potatoes and Spam. I will be eating healthy, wholesome, good food.

Dehydrating sounds like a great idea! If you don’t have a dehydrator (I don’t yet) you can get some pretty high quality green bars at your health food store. They don’t taste delicious always, but they are very filling and very satisfying. I took my church’s youth group on a mission trip earlier this month and we were eating three meals a day in a cafeteria. I also took various kinds of nuts and seeds to eat because those keep me very satisfied. I was able to survive without eating the yucky stuff in the cafeteria, and also had several kids interested in nutrition!

I take Ormus Greens with me when I’m traveling. (They’re in the GSG store.) Easy, tastes pleasant, must-have with plane trips where I can’t take a cooler full of frozen GS. And then I just look, everywhere, for raw plant foods. It takes a while but you develop a “nose” for it.

I travel throughout the world for business, mostly stay in hotels. Just ask at the restaurant to blend up a batch. Most are amazed at the request and have fun with it. No rejections past 6 months
