Great post! I am one of the over weight and and out of shape. I am working hard to change that, my diet is way better now but I am still not losing. I took a drastic measure to get myself moving, I took a job working as an on call banquet server!! Boy do I get a workout! Lots of walking and lifting. I would never have worked that hard at a gym. It's a job I have wanted to do for a while now and I like it.

I was at a party at my SIL's house a few weeks ago. My BIL had rented one of those blow up slides for the kids, they ran the hose on it and all the kids were haveing a blast. What hit me big was how many of those kids were chunky! Such a shame that little kids and so many of them were already showing signs of excess and poor choices.

Ha ha, while I didn't have the guts to ask those guys in the kitchen to make me a green smoothie, I *did* ask the British head chef what it would take to tour the kitchen. He said "give me your camera." Not what I had in mind. (I figured if I could make friends with him, I could teach him the gospel of green smoothies, but I got shut down! You don't want to insult these people with degrees from chef schools, right, since they're going to be making your food for a while?) He's looking for a job in the U.K., U.S., or Australia--anyone know of openings for chefs?

Great idea, labor intensive, if you're up for it! Nutrients *mostly* survive, and the taste is pretty good, not quite as good as fresh, when you freeze GS. If you come to where I live and start a GreenSmoothieGirl juice bar, I'll send everyone I know your way!

I have one photo related to our topics on this blog that I'll post later today. (Other photos would be kind of unrelated and self-indulgent!)

Your vacation sounds like so much fun! Will we see some pictures? Did you request GS from the ships kitchen? That would be so like you...in the kitchen showing the chefs how to do it!

Robyn, tell me what you think of this idea. Many folks I know like the GS I make. They simply can't (or won't) purchase the blender needed to make them. Could I make GS in large batches and freeze them in smaller portions for friends? They could thaw them out, then blend again in their $20 blenders. Would the nutrients survive freezing? How would the texture be affected?

It sounds like you were on a cruise full of older people having a great time! The younger generation of Brits feel ultrathin (men and women) is the norm. If you ever visit London, check out Sainsbury's. I was NOT impressed with their produce section. It made me miss MY grocery store when I visited!!! The ultrathin attitude is also horrible, too. Brits judge each other harshly over a small pooch pot, which is very unkind.
