Drinking of this Alkaline water you can get more energy than drinking of tap water.

Good question, and I'll take the easy part first. My RO filtration system has a green and red light on it--when the red light comes on, it's time to change those filters. The ionizer has a digital readout, 1 to 100. When it gets to 100, you change the filters. (After a year of usage by 6 people--and my daughter gives the dogs alkaline water!--we're at 60.)

The remineralizer, you would just see that all the coral calcium in it is gone, I assume. But I didn't know and wasn't paying attention. A few weeks ago I noticed, "I am just not feeling the energy when I drink the water that I used to." I tested the water, and sure enough! It tested acidic just like plain RO, tap, distilled waters do. And, my ionizer's digital filter score was no longer advancing--it was stuck on 55 for a couple of weeks. So I was frustrated and thought something was wrong with my ionizer. I contacted my rep at Life Ionizer, who is really helpful and knowledgeable.

He suggested I change the remineralizer, which I did. WOW! Right back to alkaline water when I tested it, right back to feeling the benefits of the ionized water. And the fact that the filters weren't advancing shows that my ionizer was working perfectly--you cannot ionize water with no minerals in it!

So, the easiest way to tell that your remineralizer has run out is that your ionizer's filter measurement (digital readout right on the faucet) just stops. I'll alert Adam to this blog and ask him to add any more info he might have.

How do you know when the remineralizer filter & the RO filters need to be changed?

No ionizer filters everything out like the reverse osmosis filters and distillers do. (Problem is, RO also takes out the minerals.) So yes, I recommend the RO system, which they give you at their cost with an ionizer, plus you'll need a $75 remineralizer. You can't ionize water without minerals in it. And of course, when you take the minerals out of water, the H2O molecule becomes aggressive, seeking out minerals from your bones/tissues. So longterm distilled or RO water isn't a good idea.

I have RO + remineralizer + ionizer at my house. My remineralizer lasted us (6 people) almost 11 months before it ran out. My ionizer filters ($39.95) are still going strong, 60% used after one year.

Would you recommend a reverse osmosis filter in addition to the ionizer, or does the ionizer filter too?
