Hi all,

Has anyone out there tried Maca?  If so what do you think?  Where did you buy it?  What is the best source for it?

I have a lot of it. I got it from http://www.livingnutritionals.com If you join you can get 16% off of it and usually they are cheaper than other sites. It is really good for you. I just think it tastes nasty. You can make all sorts of smoothies with it and try to mask the flavor. I bought quite a bit of it when it was on sale and have had a hard time eating it. It tastes just fine in raw food bars.

    Thanks Tonya,

Thanks for the link to livingnutritionals. Have you or anyone else bought from nutsonline.com? I just found their website last night. I am planning on ordering from them. Their cacao prices are excellent. I am going to order several things from them. Check out their website and tell me what you think. :)

Tonya, What is it? And why is it good for us? I find it so hard to believe that Mother Nature made good for us food that tastes so bad. LOL

I will blog later today about maca and the other “Designer Foods.”

    Jeane,

I know you asked Tonya but. Maca is a root plant from Peru. It is like a radish. It is probably better that you google it because there is just too much info to list about its good properties.

I was wondering why Robyn referred to it as a “Designer Food.”

Well if it does the things people claim it does I want to try it. Believe me I don’t believe everything I have read, but how does a person know if they don’t try things.

I know saw palmetto and the other substances like it work for prostate health. I use the prostate health pills from costco and they work without a doubt.

Maca does what it claims. It is great stuff. You can find it places on the internet for cheaper than others. It tastes awful…or I think it does. You can put into stuff. I have had raw food bars with it in it and it tasted wonderful. I have personally found that it is helping my going through ‘the change’ at 40! I have found that it is helping me with my hormonal changes. I have noticed in myself that it has helped my memory a wee bit and I am not having as many hot flashes! (I am 40 going through this! Geesh.)
Men and women can take this.
You can google it. There is a lot of information about it out there. The folks at http://www.macamagic.com are good people. You might want to try there first.
I am sure Robyn will post a blog about it.

Got something to say? Go for it!
