My almonds have arrived!

Well UPS just dropped off 100#’s of almonds at my front door. Guess I need to get busy dividing and delivering to the folks who went in with me on this group buy. Then I get to fill my freezer with the remaining 60# we are keeping for ourselves. :)

woo hoo! Can’t wait to get my order.

I’ve noticed that my older spinach and other greens form little bumps on them, lettuce zits if you will. They look granular. What are those and is it safe to eat the lettuce with those? Thanks

Interesting about the almonds. I received my order about 2 weeks ago. Maybe because I live in California. I was surprised they came loose in a big box. My husband and I put them all in plastic freezer bags. They taste so fresh!

I just bagged all my almonds. I know Robyn mentioned that 100 lbs. would fit in about 9-10 zip lock bags, but I was only able to get about 5 lbs per gallon bag. Just wanted to pass on my experience.

Also, I can definitely taste the difference between these almonds and ones I have bought at the grocery store in the past. Very fresh…I am hooked. THANKS Robyn for making this possible.

Laura, I remember saying that, but what I MEANT is that a BOX (or 50#) would be 9-10 gallon freezer bags. I am so sorry if I miscommunicated that!

They had better be fresh because they JUST came out of the trees. We are waiting for the sheller to get caught up with the backlog because of what I am told is weather issues. We are shipping later than I’d like, and we just cleared the orders through Oct. 15 and are now starting on those from Oct. 16-31 (first orders ship first). (As each truckload comes in–we got 8,000 lbs. Weds. and another 10,000 lbs. comes in tomorrow, etc.)

For locals, I have all the other items here but I am notifying via email the next people in the order, as I get more almonds arriving.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Robyn

  7. Jayme says:

Are you going to have another group buy or is it an ongoing thing? How do we get hooked up with people in our area for the buy?

Oh good to know about where the shipping status is. Should we be getting a UPS tracking notification or anything? I ordered about a week ago and I’m wondering when to expect them. It’s raining here all week, with possible snow, and I don’t want to miss my box arriving as it could get a little messy, and sometimes UPS doesn’t come to my front door, but drops off at the side (grr!!!).

  10. Sybil says:

Are both the organic and not organic almonds on the same shipping schedule right now? I noticed that both are available and am curious if it is both that are held up or just those grown in California. Can’t wait to get them! Thanks:)

  11. Robyn Openshaw Robyn says:

We’re actually further behind on organic (that come from Spain) but I’m not too concerned about that because we don’t have huge quantities ordered on that item. They will arrive this week in a couple days and we’ll ship then!

  12. Cheryl says:

It’s been over a week since I received my order – except for the 150# of almonds. When will I receive my almonds? My customers are getting nervous.

Got something to say? Go for it!
