Do mammograms cause cancer?

Free radicals (atoms with unpaired electrons) cause cancer. Radiation (grossly simplified) is a massive amount of targeted free radicals used to detect cancer (also CAUSING cancer). This study does not surprise me, and it’s not the first study I have read with the same conclusion:

    I, also, was not surprised.
Several years ago I saw an environmental/organic oriented calendar that had various fact-lets, inc info that Monsanto, the GMO giant, which also produces many agricultural chemicals (inc Round-up – GMO crops are usually ’round-up ready’) ALSO produced many of the ‘chemotherapy’ chemicals – so cause cancer with herbicides, fungicides, etc (yes, free radical prducing) then ‘treat’ it with more chemicals?
& recall reading one couples struggle when deciding what ‘treatments’ to use for the wife’s breast cancer, & when they cornered the docs on whether it would extend her life – well, no . . . . it would (prob) be about the same, or even, perhaps, a little less, . . . basically, ‘treatment’ gave them something to do . . . (book was ‘Grace & Grit’)

I have a question, I want to start the 12 Step to Whole Foods but I want to wait until the book comes out. Is there a chance it will be out before the new year? Thanks so much!

This makes me so angry. I’m forced to watch CNN at my gym and it was amazing to watch people completely freak out about this, how doctors are sending women to their graves by suggesting against regular mammograms. We just don’t know what to do when the slightest shred of evidence-based healthcare comes along.

Jessica, we hope the printed course will be done in 2-3 weeks in time for “New Year’s Resolutions.” It will be more expensive than the digital download but it will be spiral bound and still less expensive than printing it on your home computer.

Hmmmm…radiation….sounds like fall out from a bomb. I’d rather keep all that to a minimum (like surgery from an emergency or accident).

I don’t understand why anyone uses mammograms. They aren’t even that accurate (and often are the cause of an abnormality because they squish the breast to the point of causing tissue damage that shows up as a suspicious blob on the mammogram reading) and if anything is found the next step is to perform an ultrasound of the breast because it is more accurate. So, why not just use the ultrasound in the first place?

Got something to say? Go for it!
