Eating Whole Food

On this site, I attempt simple, common-sense advice about eating whole food, based on what should have been my PhD in nutrition if it hadn’t been so self-directed: my extensive study of thousands of articles, studies, and books on nutrition.

The information here is non-technical and easy to understand, a good starting place for anyone, even someone currently eating three meals a day from Wendy’s, McDonalds, and Taco Bell.

I think when you learn the essence of eating whole food, you’ll find that this is not extreme—anyone can do it. It is not excessively expensive, time consuming, or gourmet to plan easy-to-prepare meals that are 60% or more raw.

For those of you with babies or toddlers, congratulations! This is the PERFECT time to make a change to eating whole food, while you have control over their diet and can build strong bodies from the beginning. For those of you with older children, don’t give up—kids really will drink green smoothies and enjoy nutritious foods every day, even status-conscious teens like mine.

My 12 Steps to Eating Whole Food includes notes about why certain ingredients are good for you. By using them daily, you can feel great that your child is eating a good balance of nuts, seeds, sprouts, whole grains, legumes, greens, healthy fats, and vegetables and fruits every day!

I’ve designed the site towards questions I am asked frequently about eating whole food—questions on the minds of many parents. My hope is that your family is able to make the positive, transformational change you are seeking by reading this site!
